In Bodegas Gil Luna, Wences Gil offers an alternative to the traditional wine making methods of Toro, both in terms of the wine and the viticulture. It was founded on the philosophy that the main principals of wine making should embrace a maximum respect for the environment, the selection of the best grapes, and the production of ‘Vinos de Pago’ wines, wines of terroir that reflect the characteristics of the native soil from which they are made.
All the grapes come from ‘Pago Santa Olalla’ in the Duero Valley, an area where, due to its sandy soils, phylloxera never attacked the vines. Awards
